Never had a problem with SAPI 5 myself...

I still think the best voices to get are the Kate & Paul set by NeoSpeech. They come in at 250 MB a piece.

But I like Cepstral too cuz they have nice effects options where you can set your voices to do all kinds of special effects... robot, echo, haunted, etc...

Good morning,

Given that the last post on this thread was almost two years ago has SAPI 5 improved? Has any other group / company / person created any new TTS voices that really stand out? As I understand it, Windows 7 will have SAPI 5 but not SAPI 4?

Thanks!
Brandon

I've never had any problem with SAPI 5 on either XP Pro or XP Home.
But the voice I prefer to use is L&H Carol british female voice
or the british male voice when talking to my bots. Don't know why,
but I just like the way they sound. lol

You're quite correct Nomeneiste. Windows System 7 will have and
only be able to utilize SAPI 5. SAPI 4 is no longer compatible.
In fact there were already a few compatibility issues with SAPI 4
and Windows Vista.
