Can you drop the text speech please - it makes you sound like a moron, which I am sure you are not.

calvindmp,

Welcome to our Forum. The link you posted is really interesting and may open up further discussions here.

However, as Freddy noted, you should use a different language, for the reasons which are well explained in our Forum Guidelines:

2. Use proper spelling and English grammar. The way you type tells others a lot about yourself. If you use the so called "leet speak" or shorten your writing by using "u" instead of "you", for example, you are not helping other people to understand you. You may assume that everybody in this forum understands English, but you cannot assume they know your local expressions. Remember that this is a forum, and not an instant messenger: you have all the time to write your post, so please do not just try to hastily put out anything that comes into your mind.

For the complete Forum Rules and Guidelines, please see http://www.vrconsulting.it/vhf/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=11

Thank you very much

We are still trying to negotiate a Portuguese TTS voice to go with our engine. For the English ones, users will have to purchase them. Vista comes with Anna, but we prefer NeoSpeech Kate 16. Acapela is bulding some very new voices too. Loquendo still have the best ones, but they don´t care about us, mortal end users

Guile-
I was wondering, back in 2007 you were talking about adding a feature, where you could change the avatars hair and eye color. Is that feature still going to be available, or has it been dropped?

Did you ever get a chance to check out the voice feature included in Opera? Joe Budd's site codebyjoe.com has an excellent interface for it, but is frustrated that Opera has apparently abandoned further development, and that Microsoft has killed it's MSAgents. It's sad, so very sad. So Guile, to avoid a similar fate, will your Denise be platform (OS) independent? I know it would kill me if I put in as much effort as you have, only to have Microsucks screw everything up.

This feature will be avaliable as a plug in later on. Also, the users will be able to create their own charaters, using tools like Max, ZBrush and Poser and then export to our engine. By the time computers can handle real time photo-realistic 3D, all this will be much more fun...

Yes, I checked Opera. The voice is good, but it´s not open source, as far as I know, and there´s no other voices than English.

We´re doing our best to code our engine in a way that will not be hard to port to any other OS, especialy Linux. Delphi has a IDE called Kylix, that compile the code to run in Linux, and there´s also a project called Mono that we´re following...

Probably we won´t have time to release a Linux version at the same time of the Windows version, but this sure is in our short time plans.

Hi.
Denise should be shipped with every OS!

Year: 2012
Guile 3D with Stan Winston studios (http://www.stanwinstonstudio.com/home.html) releases a real version of Denise that is wireless connected to UVHI. She has Two "minds": the first one controls Voluntary movements and AI, the second one controls automatisms on a deeper level. Her AI is evolved enought due to an Huge "Mind" file that is able to learn. Within 1 year of learning Denise can reach an equivalent of 90 IQ. It costs 10.000 Euro and 1000000 Denise will be sold within 2015.

It would be great if It was possible so soon. She could keep my house.

Hi.

Be careful though! If she attains an IQ higher than that...mankind is doomed!
But seriously, just check out what it would take to achieve the brainpower of an ant!
Check out the video @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mC7Q-ix_0Po&feature=player_embedded

As for the future headline, I hope we're able to get at least a Beta version of Denise way before that! We're not getting any younger!

Some updates:

While my team works with the testing phase with Denise and our new engine, I´ve been busy with her AI... still..... well, the more I improve this, less icons and windows the engine will have, since the idea is basically just use natural language to do everything.

I´ve finished the music control using just the chat.

Some features user can ask Denise:

- Play music
- Play my favorite songs
- Choose a soft music for me, please.
- I´d like to listen to some classical music
- Play Every Breath You Take (or just play every breath)
- Play The Police
- Next Music
- Play U2
- Play With or without You and The Pride of Love
- Increase Volume
- Stop / Pause / Resume
- I don´t like this song!
- Skip this song
- Play again
- Search for all my music files
- Play some hard rock
- Play some song from The Eagles
- Who sings this song?
- What this songs name?
- Say the song title before playing

I really like to use these features...never used winamp again!!

That sounds very cool. So is the music player built in or is it just controlling another player?

Along the same lines, any plans for a vid player or picture viewer?
