You have done great work with that hair. That tends to be one of the hardest elements to do in 3D, yet yours looks very natural.

The "2D and 3D graphics" forum area is a good place to post your character development; here's a link:
http://www.vrconsulting.it/vhf/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=13

If you want to post work that has nothing to do with AI or characters, perhaps use the "Off-Topics" area:
http://www.vrconsulting.it/vhf/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=21

There are a few of us here that are interested in 3D graphics, myself included, and I look forward to seeing your work-in-progress
Thanks for the links I'll make sure to use them. Also, thanks for the compliment on the hair as that, together with clothing, is my main area of expertise in 3D. I'll possibly post some newer images on my site in the next day or 2 and let jou know.

OK so back on topic (hopefully).
I've done some serious web browsing today and as a start, it looks like I'll possibly have to stick with MSAgent characters untill I learn a little more about programming. From what I can gather, one can use MASH to build one's own characters and so I'll be converting the model on my site (She's called Angelique) into a character in the very near future. I'm also busy figuring out how to bring the character together with an AI engine such as A.L.I.C.E. and it is slowly starting to make sense to me. Must say I've learned a lot from reading Tom's site. Thanks Tom.

Something that I'd really like to know how to incorporate is the automatic learning which I've seen quite a bit of during my internet searches today.

Actually you can´t build an MSAnget with MASH. This application just alows you to make scripts to automate agent´s actions. You have to use the free Microsoft Agent Editor. Warn you that this is not a very easy task, since the documentation is very confused, but I´m sure you´ll get there. Your girl is beatifull, and would be very nice as an agent.

Going slightly offtopic, but have you ever considered a 3D interface? Linux has :)

imagine that with some of Guile's creations...

The hand that rocks the AI cradle, may well rule the world.

Some updates from Denise´s project:

Working a lot lately in the chat feature.

You guys remember our AI engine will have three layers, but now we´re improving it with more layers for the user´s input text.

Step 1: Spellchecker (12 million words)
Step 2: Grammar Corrector
Step 3: Auto-Complete Control based on most used words
Step 4: Auto-Suggest Control based on most used phrases

I believe this will greatly improve the way user´s type in the chat box.

How are you going about grammar correction? Or is it your own scheme?

I ask because I've been around the block with taggers, linkers, chunkers... you name it. There still isn't a 100% way of correcting grammar. And the systems that do come close are very expensive or part of university research.

Cool Guile !
Maybe a stupid question, but where can we see your work in action ?..
If i have time i can help you to debug, asking questions to your
knowledges bases etc etc.

I don't think we will be able to see Guile's work before the actual product release. However, i wonder what Guile has in mind for user testing. The release of some kind of Beta perhaps????

Mik, for Portuguese, we´re using our own grammar and spell checker
engine. For English, we´re using: www.wintertree-software.com/dev/wgrammar/index.html

It´s indeed not a cheap DLL. (more than US$ 1250.00 for the .DLL, and US$ 4500.00 for the source SKD), but it´s the best I could find.

I really would like to give you a precise answer about our release date, but i´t depends mostly of our capacity to achieve a stable version, that runs OK in any windows version.

We also have to close some deals with some TTS voice companies.

I don´t like Blizzard´s and ID´s slogan for their games "We´ll release it whens it´s done", but they certainly build remarkable games.

Our team is small, but we´re working very, very hard.

I still have an idea to make a promo video.. I´ll do my best.

Guile

It would be good if you could release a watered down stand-alone agent type program - a bit like the Denise beta that you gave me. ie a version that is a bit like a MS Agent but is fed data from other applications. Such an engine would be useful for developers and an alternative to MS Agent - since it looks like Windows 7 will no longer support agent. You would then have the whole market to yourself!

regards

Tom

Sylvain,
Nice bot. It's refreshing to talk to a chatbot that doesn't have Alice lurking in the background somewhere. Not to disrespect Alice, but most "Alice" bots all sound the same. What did you use for an engine? Is it based on another bot? Inquiring minds want to know..

I agree with Tom, Guile. Microsux and IBM all have their "Heads in the Cloud" They're obsessed with it...along with Google. I just don't want to go back to the Client/Server days of IT, especially with flood of Data Center breaches! But then, that's another topic.

Has anyone had a chance to play around with Opera VOICE It's FREE you know!

Keep up the good work Guile. Rome wasn't built in a day! And you do want Denise to be a Roamin' Goddess! BTW, what Mobile Device are you using to test Denise on

Maranatha!

Guile a video overview of your engine would also be sufficient. Something like: you explaining in detail the various features of your engine, content development tools, etc etc

Thanks Dave,

Verbot engine is very different to Alice engine it's the reason why "she" sounds
different. I think i found a little balance/harmony between the logic of a bot
and human empathy... Athena is not a "industrial" (for compagnies) bot. "she"
direclty speak "human" to human. She can be very angry and violent (don't
forget the Trojan war, where she fight like a animal) but without vulgarities...
In others words she is not receptionist for big compagnies. Lol! I can imagine
Athena speaking about Achilles' revenge on Hector to customers, clientèles...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Achilles
No dissemblings, no acts in an underhand way. Athena is... Athena.
Be sure i know she is very far of bot like Jabberwacky or Elbot, etc. But...
She realised she had to leave nothing to chance, it's just possible.
Be sure she try one's luck.
She can be very friendly, an excellent good fellow.

Friendly
