Well, Kari has expressions with version 4. Here is the same scene but she's smiling cuz I made her happy.

Yeah, Kari is more mature for version 4. She's grown up our little Kari.

Very cool Art. If we were designed I'm might thankful to our creator. It's one heck of a trip!

Yeah Mik, I sort of went astray from your posting and perhaps it should be moved to a more thought provoking topic of discussion.

Kari, to me she looked upset due to the inward slanting eyebrown (indicating displeasure) and her mouth, which definitely had a down-turned frown. Her eyes, while quite pretty, when thrown into the mix, seemed pointed and helped to emphasize her displeasure.

Then again...that's from my old twisted perspective.

I think you should offer something for everyone and every taste...Kari through the ages. Various ages / groupings of Kari. Some like the College, early years of dealing with a career, etc. Just some more wood for the fire. Like you need more work to do! Sorry!!

I am also interested in how you decide to weigh different emotions and emotional responses within the Kari AI.

Best!

Very cool! Thanks Art!

I use words like love, fredom, I like, etc for her smile for example and words like hate, sad, mean, in context with ego to trigger the sadness emotion. Stuff like that.

Oh, I don't care what you post. Your posts are always thought provoking.

Cya!

Ramiko2K8,
I never said she looked bad...those are your words.

I was sharing my view on what I perceived which is classical expression of an upset or even angered emotion. Eyebrows, mouth, eyes, etc.

This was on the character / avatar image.
######
I also had a question on how Mik adjusted emotional responses for Kari which he replied that they were based on word usage.

Lastly, I asked about him creating a variety of Kari Characters/Avatars with some being younger, older, and possibly a personality difference as well.

Please don't read more into my postings that actually are. Mik and I are friends and have been for many years. He is quite able to take friendly criticism.
Thanks!

Remember, nothing of this is final anyways. I know I shouldn't post dev work but I like getting feedback. Good or bad.

Thanks Ramiko for your kindness. Remember, the ocean is king because he humbles himself a few inches lower than all the rivers and lakes.

And thanks Art for your critique.

Laters.

Will we be able to create scenes without constraints on the aspect ratio
I would like to create scenes to utilize large monitors and render the images to any size

Thank you very much Art and Snake.

Well, I have been thinking on how to do that... Use higher res images. This would of course need a skin with the appropriate dimensions too. I can manipulate images inside Kari pretty easily, resize them for example. And there is always full screen mode you can use which is already available.

Could you be more detailed as to your needs Snake? You want a higher resolution image in skin mode do you not? How big are you planning to make them? Why aren't you using full screen mode? Thanks.

Hey mikmoth

Yes I am looking for higher res images in skin mode
Using full screen looses to much resolution and I prefer to have the chat window and scene manager open
I am using a 32 inch monitor at 1920x1080
A doubling of the current window from 700x500 to 1400x1000 would be great
Thanks

Hi mikmoth

I have some requests for Kari 4.

Can you make it so that the user can edit the greeting and goodbye sentences for those of us who don't use Kari as a girlfriend chatbot?

The IsayYouSay database can contain some very specific answers/replies that are not always compatible with every character. It would be nice to load a personality specific ISayYouSay.

Yep... I've already done that for the ISayUSay plugin. The greetings are a nice idea too. Thanks.

One big cool feature of Kari 4 is the new Scene sizing function. Any scene can be as small or as large as the user wants. The scenes are rendered at a really large size but are resized to any size using a resizing algorithm that uses cubic mapping for an extra clean supersampling.

This took me a lot of work. But it's finally finished. Yep, the skin is also resized to accomodate the size of the Scene.

So now, Kari can fill your screen (with skin) or hang out in the corner of your desktop like a gadget. Yes!
