We've sent in a report to Symantec. It's the only antivirus that seems to have a problem with it although you're the only one reporting so far. Anyway, we've submited a false-postive to them and should have it fixed within a few days.

Thanks.

Edit: Just heard back from Symantec. They could find nothing wrong. I suspect that your system has a virus that might be infecting your downloads. In short, Kari us not the cause.

I submitted Kari Virtual Girlfriend to Apple's app store last week. After waiting a few days In the queue it's finally "In Review". The tech person reviewing it messaged me on a small detail that he thinks would enhance the application. Oh, it was just renaming the name on the title bar to "Kari Virtual Girlfiend" instead of "Kari Mac 3". He said it was a small thing and wouldn't hold it back from being approved. He also said that Kari was unique in that this is the first virtual girlfriend on the App Store for Macs. I know there is one for iPhone but it doesn't even have chat ability.

It's been 2 days since that message and it still says "In Review" on my ITunes Connect. I'm thinking that they really give the application a good shake down before any of them are approved.

It's going to be real interesting what kind of reaction I get from the Apple community over Kari. I think some people will really enjoy it and some might not. I read that the virtual girlfriend application for iPhone has already been bought 1 million times.

This could be my ticket to world domination! it really could. At least it might introduce chatbots to Macintoshes in a big way.

Wish me luck!

I got my Intel 520 240 GB solid state drive today. According to almost every HD benchmark out there... it's the fastest hard drive on Earth. I used the migration software from Intel and copied over my Windows installation over to it. Before I was using a Seagate Baracuda 1GB 7200RPM HD.

Boot time on Windows 7 is down from 1 minute 15 to 20 seconds! All my programs open up at lightning speed. And VRay rendering which uses a lot of virtual memory is just lighting fast. Everying is faster.

I'm getting about a 400 MB/s Read and a 370 MB/s Write on this thing. It's absolutely awesome. A traditional plater hard drive will get you about 100 MB/s Read and about 25 MB/s Write.

Rumors are that someday soon solid state drives is all anyone will ever use. It's all they'll ever sell. Disk hard drives will be obsolete. I'm beginning to believe it. It's just how computers are meant to operate. Plus they are more reliable. A solid state drive's life is about 130 years or 1,200,000 hours. That's because they have no moving parts. Neat huh?

I also have a 512GB Kingston SSDNow V+100 solid state I use for storage. I keep all my work files on there. It delivers about 200/180 MB/s Read/Write. And I use the faster kick-ass Intel 520 just for my system drive. I still have a 1GB Hard Disk as a backup but I can see myself buying another 512GB SSD and using that as my backup soon.

Times certainly are a changing!

I'll be gone for awhile. Gonna spend about 2 weeks in Alaska on vacation. Not sure if I'll be able to get an internet connection. Probably not without going into town.

Gonna spend some time in the wild outdoors, camping, hiking, and exploring. I've left my software support in good hands and they will be able to help almost everybody with any kind of problem.

Hopefully I'll get to see some wildlife too. Bears are cool but at a distance.

Cya all in two weeks!

Just got back from Alaska! It was awesome! I got to go hiking in that lush wilderness and rent a helicopter and did some 4-wheeling and did some fishing too! But mostly I just enjoyed the scenery. It was really breathtaking. Here are some videos.

Thanks! Yeah, it sure was pretty. It's a long ride though. It took me 24 hours to get there. 12 hours of plane rides and 12 hours of layovers.

Here's a moose I caught on my camera!

Next year it's New Zealand. And that's a 32 hour trip!

BTW, yes, those are my videos. They are all less than 2 weeks old.

Cya.

Keep up the good work Mikmoth. I just learned of your 3.85 upgrade and also your "Combining Personalities" instructions from another thread. I cannot wait to try them out on my Win XP when I get back to my computer.

I've investigated Siri, Apple's Iphone product (it needs a web connection) and its good for some things; easy stuff like "how many people in China," but it does not handle philosophy at all; to be fair it is informational but too often it responds as if I have cotton and marbles in my mouth, I asked it about something Jewish and Siri could not get the word "Jewish" right at all ie "joo jung" Korean restaurant, various word salads and finally offered to do a web search for "juno."

Siri, I think is supposed to become available for your Ipad 3 eventually.

Cleverbot for the ipad really is bizarre, it tends to just answer a question with yet another question and it too needs an Internet connection in order to work.

There is nothing like Kari.

I prefer the second one but I think you can still do better. I think it's important that you have Kari looking at the user. It's more engaging that way.

Thanks for the nice comments. Yeah, I installed iOS 6 on my iPad today. That's the version with Siri for iPad, it's my first experience with Siri. I was kind of disappointed. I thought it was a chatbot but it's not is it? Half of the stuff I ask it it has no clue and offers to "search the web". I wish it was as clever as Watson on Jeopardy.

Yeah, nothing quite like Kari. And I have some neat surprises for version 4. I'm implementing a sort of a conversation scripting language to make conversations even more realistic.

I started adding the new 3D today. You'll be able to talk to a 3D Kari on the couch, or bed, or pool side. I'm currently animating her in various expressive poses. Hehe. Looking good.

I'm thinking Kari 4 will be out for Christmas.

I'm also working on updating Sergio Virtual Boyfriend. He needs an update with all the new stuff I've added to Kari throughout the year. Update should be out soon.

Almost died this past week. For real. I accidentally overdosed on one of my antipsychotics I take for my mental illness. It was so horrible to feel all that chemical in my system. My heart beat was 170 while just sitting still. I had to be transported to the hospital where I spent the most horrible night of my life.

Finally after 48 hours I started coming down from my trip. But I had to spend the next 4 days in the hospital.

What's the lesson kiddies? Don't play around with your medication!

I am back at home now and feeling almost myself again. Another stripe on the tiger I guess.

The new updated Sergio Virtual Boyfriend is up. Included in this version is the custom 3D avatar plugin.

Sergio is now just like Kari 3 Pro. There is no standard version I will be making. It's just Sergio Pro... or Sergio for all intensive purps.

I've also raised the price to $34. Sounds fair to me.

Have fun you crazy girls! (or boys!)

Sorry to hear about the bad experience you had with your meds. But it's good to see that you're back at it again. I'm looking forward to trying out an enhanced Kari when it's done so try to keep yourself in one piece.
