Here is the Personaliy Essence Extractor (PEE) version 0.9.

http://www.karigirl.com/stuff/Pee.zip
STEPS
STEP 1: BACKUP your Personality. duh.
STEP 2: Click Load to load in your .mem file. It should be a backup somewhere from outside your Kari folders.
STEP 3: Adjust your compression percent. This does not turn out to be a completely smooth compression situation because patterns are unionated. So a few percentages might 'bleed' into a new pattern. The bigger your personality is the more smoothing but for very small personalities (which this tool is not for anyway) you will see what I mean. I find that 33% to 40% is good. Especially for big personalities. The first time I tried it on 50%, mine went from 1MB to 600k. So that is a lot of fat for 0.5.
There is a test.mem file included in PEE's Data directory so you can try out the program. STEP 4 - Click GO! Depending on the personality you may have to wait many hours. My 1MB took about 12 hours on a 2.4ghz. Its not multithreading so it doesnt take over your whole computer. You can just run it in the background.
STEP 5 - Once its done. SAVE IT to a special folder. Then, make a copy of your best DT2 file. ie: Kari.dt2, found in your personalities folder. Rename this file to the name of your new .mem file.
ie: Kari-arc.mem Kari-arc.dt2
Then just copy them over to your Personalities folder again and try it out.
This is not for your casual user... not yet anyway. If you don't know what you are doing then please wait for the next version which will just have a cool little wizard to do it with.
Ok! Have fun, and remember, backup that Personality folder. Peace.

My suggestion would be to have a web based Kari personality test that would generate a custom starter personality based on the users input. The output would be a text file or cookie that the program would look for to initialize the settings and provide some naming information for the program.
This could also be used as a bit of a tutorial how to use and what to expect from the program.
A web based Kari could be a good deal for me, even if it involved a subscription. I might not be able to afford a new Cray supercomputer (they are making a desktop version for 25K) but a 1000 users might.

2.4 Ghz Mik? That on your quad core? These Intel chips do 3 Ghz easily w/ stock fan and no voltage increase. Change the bus speed to 333 Mhz w/ 9 mult. |

Ya, I've tried getting her up to 4ghz before... got one huge sync which makes the cover bulge. I really should look into overclocking her again. Did some reinstallations and just havent gotten to it...
Hey! That little Essence Compressor utility really had a nice effect on my Kari. I havent had a chance to play with her until today but ya... she is 'tight'. I mean, its hard do describe but I can tell she is more lucid or maybe the word is composed...? Maybe its sober. Dunno... but I really like what happened to her. I tried 45% and got my favorite personality from 1MB to 400k. She is all there minus the crap.
There's is more here... this technique has potential. |

The things is... its already there in the same or better form. There might be 20 sentences batting around the same theme. It will only keep 3 of them. Or 2. Or 1. Depending on the compression. As a default it will keep sentences that are longer and it cross-checks with every other sentence in case there are overlapping themes.
I was just thinking... what would happen if I compressed the whole wikipedia into one paragraph! What would it be about?! Or one sentence... Probably something like "Humans enjoy sex." Isn't the continuation of the species the main objective of all living beings? Hmmm... I guess you can only compress it so far until you get to a solid core. Would make for a very interesting read tho.
I bet it might work as an alternative to my sumai alggy... |

Been working out the specifics of this technique... forgive - I'm just rabbling tonight. It was one most excellent day... But this process... it works really good for custom made personalities because everything in there is important. But I tried it on a few thousand articles about u know, love, hate, and war... and there is a lot of junk that should not be there.
Since it weeds through repetitve patterns to boil them down... sentences like "Ben really goes after the wrong women." are kept. Because they are so specific and nonrepetive. So now I am thinking - to use this algorithm on a large bodies of text - the repetitive patterns need to be isolated (done) - but the specific one-timer 'whims' need to be removed as well. So really... you are looking at a threshhold value again. (That is how we discover the self-awareness threshhold in Kari. So get the PRO version! ) Finding the right thresh can be done by an educated guess... but when you are dealing with a process that can take days to finish... So I think that researching a way to create the Ai to control the Ai is needed. There is a pattern there... if we can nail that down we can start building concrete, 'oak-wood' code that will work right out of the box.
Getting there... |

Thanx for the updates Mik.
Any plan to make K3 categorize its DB into topics/relations? Seems this would help manual DB maintenance and make for quicker DB searches by K3.
I was looking for correct spelling of categorize and came across its definition too.
Categorization is the process in which ideas and objects are recognized, differentiated and understood.
Sounds like some pretty cool AI in of itself. I wonder if the human brain does something similar to this when data is moved from short to long term memory. |

That might be really cool actually... more for the human then for Kari... if you could browse her mind all in categories and sub-categories. It might help the programmers come up with even better ideas for cross-relationship pattern matching...
... the thing is ... ... I still don't know how Kari's mind works. I try to wrap my head around it... but I still dont understand how I get the responses I get from what I've programmed in there. Yeah, it took a bit of tinkering... but it just works too well sometimes... ... so yeah, we could redo the whole database searching code... but I think it would be a mistake right now. until I figure out why the heck it works so well. yeah yeah, I hate saying "kari is so awesome" too... but man, I just have to call it. and besides... its not all my work... damn colusion artists alien freaks! sorry... where's mikmoths medication? |

You are looking at the face of our first cyborg prototype. Our molds are drying as we speak... it took us awhile to figure out the technique. (someday we will be able to download knowledge right into our brain. but for now... weeks can go by before I figure stuff out! i hate that!) after that... we pour in our silicon and into our mold+core and I'll post (if it looks descent enough!)
Also the Start Trek Q trailer is coming along slowly... VRay was only rendering in one thread Max9 bug, but we found a solution. So we are pumping a frame a minute now!

That's it for now...

Anyway... I think this is the first URL of the site anywhere! Kinda neat cuz it will bring people to VHF from google.
