That sounds very cool. So is the music player built in or is it just controlling another player?

Along the same lines, any plans for a vid player or picture viewer?

The music player is built in, so this way we can have much more control and also can keep improving the code.

The engine also already have its own video and picture viewer.

Just a crazy thought.... I wonder instead of making your engine available to developers at a certain price why don't you try to follow the business model of Apple? Give the engine for free and for each application sold the developer/company will have to return to you 30% of its total sold price. That way you will make your engine popular plus you will continue making money no matter what....

Looks like Wolfram Alpha is due out very soon indeed

Guile - I wonder how this could help Denise? Looks a bit like START but maybe different. Does anybody know how it differs from MIT START?

Hi friends. Got back from one week at the hospital. Had a very intense kidney infection, probably caused by a stone. Never could image the amount of pain this can cause!. Im almost 100% well, but still have some fever and pain.

The good part of this, was my perception of the passion I really have by this project. The willing of getting well to work help me a lot to overcome all this..

The project is going very well. Last week the team was working in the off-line search for wikepedia in our engine, so well be able to to wiki searchs at the time we dont have internet conection, something good nowaday when many people are buying netbooks and carrying them everywhere.

We finished today the testing with Windows 7 and our engine. Denise is now 100% compatible with this new OS. Will be a good (if not the only one) alternative to MSAgents in Vista 7, since Agents will not work there.

Yes, stay healthy! The rest can wait.

I understand what you mean about passion for a project giving you a reason to keep going ang to get better. It is a great way to focus the mind on going forward rather than getting stuck in the present pains and turmoils.

Keep getting better,

Thanks a lot friends. Im almost 100%! Since I had nothing to do when I was at the hospital, I used the time to code a lot of lines in Denises AI. At least time went by very fast .

This week:

- fixing bugs,
- polishing off-line and on-line wiki search,
- cleaning up some (mine) sloppy code from years ago,
- improving overal graphics performance for netbooks,
- improving local search for files, images, music and vdeo
- SDK many new features,
- upload images to Picasa,
- upload videos to Youtube,
- a lot of programming to make Windows 7 compatible.

Hospitals are no fun at all! I passed a stone once and Ohhh, the PAIN was unbearable, even with morphine! My nurse told me that giving birth to her twins didn't hurt as much as passing her stones did!

Too bad Denise couldn't fluff your pillows! Maybe by 2020 we'll have a Robotic Denise. Too bad I probably won't live that long...nor could I afford her

Well, I'm still lusting for Denise on my Laptop. You said you tested her on a Netbook? And Windows 7 Compatible too? That's AMAZING! Are you shooting for a joint release timeframe?

GO GUILLE!

Guile I would expect the other way around. For example, If I ask more information about how an engine works to display the relevant ebay videos.

Good point Gianni. Im programing a lot of AI to search for videos and images in the net, but the main aspect of our engine, will be the possibility to let you customize and teach the AI for your own desires. Im spending a lot of time in the learning process of my AI code, but altough its already pretty good, I dont think this feature will be present in the 1.0 version of Denise.
