I'm so tired Three weeks back at work and I need another holiday! Good thing I'm leaving in two more weeks

quote:
A holiday? On a Monday? Fascinating... would love to know more about it. You NZers are Ok by me!

"Auckland Anniversary Day" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auckland_Anniversary_Day

The best thing is, on the following week, Wednesday is another public holiday This is a great time of year....

quote:
I try not to look at it as 'work'.

I'll be doing the opposite. Even though I'll be at home with no job to go to, 9 to 5 will be my "official" work time where I must do 3D (or programming), as if it was an actual job. If I don't do that, I may never get around to it

quote:
But it doesn't work with Biped curves.

I must admit I haven't used curves much.... When I get to that stage, I'll definitely remember to keep an eye out for a working filter. Oh well, it's only a little bug, right?

quote:
I'm wincing a little... those sure are high high heels!

Yes, they certainly are But I'm sure they'll look fine, if the heels are now vertical when they're on the ground

quote:
the problem was that the motion capture has all kinds of small tiny natural inflection which are hard to map into contraints.

I think you can convert motion captured animation into Biped's keyframe animation, maybe that might help keep the feet planted? It keeps the same style of movement, but translates it into the Biped system, rather than just blindly rotating bones as per the motion file. But I haven't played with it myself, so I'm just talking through a hole in my head

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing your next video

quote:
I have had to stop using XYZ for animations or anything but creating a model. I use only HPB for animations.

Ahhhhh....... Now I finally understand why your animations were going screwy. I apologise for being so ignorant I have always thought of animation joints as having a primary, secondary and tertiary axis of rotation, much like Poser's system. (Locked of course to the parent bone.) I didn't know 3D programs even offered joint animation in the global axes, nor did I know the names of the systems

Heh, only now, after quitting my job, do I discover how little I know and how much must be learnt before I can be of use

Well, good luck on your new 'job'. It still sounds better than working 9 to 5 for someone else. Just think, now you can drink on the job. (usually helps creativity too )

I was right about your holiday. Fascinating... wish I lived in New Zealand. I would probably be hanging with them southern island folks tho.

Well, today I worked on the camera. The math is so complicated but I got it so you can orbit around her while she is moving and its so smooth. Doesn't sound like much... but I had to learn all kinds of sin, theta, quaternion stuff... (been working on it for months! )

Ok, cya laters...

The "job" will be better, pity about the low pay though

We don't have a thanksgiving day, or an independence day.... Basically our holidays are just the same as yours, but with different historical reasons

Yeeeowch, you went the quaternion way? I promised myself I'd never subject myself to that math unless I absolutely positively needed it!!! Well done

The truth is I don't understand how all of it works. I just figured out how to combine the equations together to do what I want it to do. Pretty neat seeing all that math in action tho... it boggle my mind a little bit....

Anyone heard of Hentai or Sexvilla 3D? They wrote me and seemed very interested in the Kari engine... I took a quick look at their apps... they are much further into the 3D aspect of things... their models looks very good... but they dont have much AI... and no chatbot whatsoever. Very pornographic at the expence of taste (and beauty). He said something about they were trying AIML... :D] ...funny.

I told them probably no... but I'm still a little curious. Will have to feel it out some more.

Mik,

if you look back at the first page of this topic, you see that I compared your AIBliss with 3dgogo, which is a similar product by the same company (ThriXXX) which develops Sexvilla 3d.

You find the links to their products in the Virtual Humans Directory, in the section Virtual Girls, or directly clicking on http://www.vrconsulting.it/vhd/VHD_0040.asp

Hello,

Just for information:

Hentai is sexually explicit Japanese/Korean/Chinese/etc. media (in that order).

It usually is animated "anime" comics and VERY often contains material relating to "Loli" or "Lolita" read "child pornography".

There is debate as to whether "manga" should be included in the Hentai class. It also is plagued with the frequent depiction of sex with minors.

Not all Hentai is of the illegal type. Some is actually quite good. Not so much as to content, but artwork can be amazing.

Unfortunately it is often difficult to determine content before acquiring this material. So caution and common sense should rule.

In fact I was going to offer for anyone interested, two files that although are not X-rated, are strong R, no interactivity, just dancing. These show some fantastic 3D CG artwork and motion. Someone had great fun using "natural gravity morph's". The main problem is the size, and how to make them available. I have considered rapidshare. If anyone is interested, let me know. As I said the animation is pretty darn good, and no nudity, but as close as you can get.

And yes, I have an extremely large "anime", "manga", and "hentai" collection. It is an expensive hobby. I also use it to keep current on
the little Japanese I know.

Yours,
MacFalic

I'm pleased with your choice.

Of course, we all need to do what it takes to earn a living, but I'm of the opinion that you are truly gifted in your abillities, and I fear that some of that could be lost (or smothered) in the business aspects of such companies...

Hopefully, being independent will continue serving your needs while allowing you the creative and artistic freedom that has served you so well so far.

Thanks MacFalic.

Thanks John.

Well, the way things are going of late... if I was any kind of serious business man, I would be considering hiring some employees. Right? I could sure use the help... But that is just scary... and its never as good as when you do it yourself. Besides, I like hanging out at home in my pajamas...! ...and I've never been good at business. Anyway...

Haven't seen much of you lately John... hope everything is Ok!

Ok, cya.

Hello,

You are very welcome.

I just got caught by my own curiosity. Did anyone know that there are 6202 active PPM packages just for perl 10xx, and that is just for win32?

That does not even begin to count that there are 4 os's and from version 5xx thru 10xx and.....I still get dizzy.

It is all free, and the 10xx win32 zip's total 165mb. I think I won't be too nosy for awhile.

Yours,

Sure, but think of the percentage increase when you make that first sale or pick up that first consult!

Been camping in the snow at 14 degrees with my oldest son in the Boy Scouts.

Lots of fun, and a great experience.

I'm still decompressing and letting my brain thaw out for a few days, but I will be back at it before long. Luckilly, I followed Jim's advice to keep a change log and good commenting in my source so that I can pick up where I left off.

Hey, Catwalk Beta is out... I've been working on it non-stop for two weeks. So tired...! Anyway, you can download it and try it out. Just install over your old installation to save your custom settings.

Lots of new experimental code... so I'm sure there are some new bugs. I've been reorganizing everything, classing a lot of new functions that I'll be able to use them as AIBliss grows.

If you're not into it... you can just watch this new video here. I shot it in lo, lo resolution cuz it takes forever to upload these things!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VO6IS_DASSU

Anyways, hope you enjoy it... I'm not done with it yet (hence the Beta) but I hope you enjoy what I have so far. Please report any bugs by going to the website and filling out the form.

Thanks!

I got some reports of poor system performance with the catwalk level. So I cut the polygon level in half. I can't tell the difference myself... ...I guess I've just been spoiled by my new video card. Sorry about that... things should be a lot easier on everyone's video card now. I just uploaded the new version.

Also, there are some camera issues I'm still working out... no need to report these... I am aware of them.
