Alrighty... AIBliss version 0.1 is complete. For those of you who have MP3s and listen to them on your computer, well, I'd like your feedback. I only have 2 computers to test it on and at this point I would be just happy if it runs on someone else's computer! It has a clean and full uninstall too... I made sure of that.

I hope you have a nice video card!

You can check out the wesbite and the program here!

Okay Mik, I am downloading now. Given that I am an old curmudgeon I don't think I have an MP3 player on my windows things but I will look.

Mikmoth, your work is wonderful!

In my opinion it's better than the 3dGoGo by ThriXXX, in terms of her ability to dance according to the music.

The installation is quick and straightforward. Setting up the parameters is also very easy.

My old notebook (Celeron/780MB RAM/integrated graphics card, XP) runs it with no problems.

Some little technical issue, just to help you in debugging it:
* If you select Continuous Play the song highlighted in the list is not updated: it remains the first you selected.
* A couple of times while starting up the program I got this error message, but I was not able to get the same error again (and, anyway, clicking Ignore the program continued normally):

It might be just a memory issue, since I was also running Mozilla at the same time.

A couple of nice-to-have features:
* It would be nice to have a song list structured by folders, so that you can choose the artist, then the album and then the song. My MP3 folder contains 3000 songs and it's not easy to find the right one in a sequential list.
* A volume slider would be very useful.

One final comment. The product you are creating is the result of your hard work and could be sold at a reasonable price (a few dollars); you might use the same marketing approach of 3dGoGo: free download but only paying customers can get the dancer completely nude. It's an old trick which works

All installed ok here on an XP system. I think you did a really nice job. I've already had a look at the image files to see if I can skin the girls - looks like I would have to skin the defaults at this stage as there is no skin choice. I'm impressed, the whole thing runs smoothly too and it's all very intuitive.

One problemo - I get the same error message as Vit does everytime I start it up. If I click 'ignore' it still works fine though.

I have a nice video card so I could run it fine with full on settings and the higher res model - frame rate dropped of course but it still ran smoothly.

Well done

Alright! Thanks for trying it out... I'm so happy it runs! And thanks for your comments!

I'm going to incorporate this into the next update. Its gonna take a little research on how to scroll and highlight a list entry from code. That's an excellent suggestion by the way.

I've fixed this... I was referencing a nonlocal object... oops. It was actually the slider for transparency on her skirt.

I'm going to think about your suggestions for marketing this software... its really been an iffy subject for me.

That is great great great. I upgraded my video card recently to a 7600 and it runs the hipoly model very well too. You can really notice it if you take a look at her fingernails. They are really nice looking on hi.

Well if you want to make some skins... you can make yourself a custom character. Make a copy of one of the Jenny.cha files and edit it with Notepad to point to your custom texture. It can be a jpg or bmp. The save it out with a new name, ie: Tina.cha, and it will show up as a new character in the dressing room.

Thanks again both of you for trying her out (and liking it!) . If you want to fix that bug, the best way is to uninstall, redownload, and install into the same directory (in case you made some cool profiles).

laters!

I've downloaded the new version. I've restarted it several times with other programs running and didn't get that error anymore, so I suppose it's fixed.

I've been working all the evening on something I have to get done by Monday morning () and kept her running in a small window. It was very nice to be able to work while listening to music and sometimes looking at her.

So I give you some more ideas about what a user like me might appreciate (and would accept paying some dollars for).

1. Ability to play not only local MP3 files but also Internet radios (see http://www.shoutcast.com/). BTW, 3dGoGo installs itself as a WinAmp plugin, so it automatically gets all the WinAmp features, including this one and all the others about selecting songs, adjusting volume, and so on. But I don't know how difficult it is to adapt your program so that it works as a WinAmp plugin.

2. Something to create a more interactive experience with her. For example, I would like to see implemented a very simple AI engine, which allows the user to ask something like: PLAY A SONG about BICYCLE and she will play and dance "Bicycle Race" by the Queen.I did something like that with a Hal plugin, and it worked fine. If you are interested, you can go to http://www.vrconsulting.it/halplugins/vr_hal00.html and download vrMP3. It was written in VBScript, but you might find some useful hint.

3. Another realistic touch: when the music stops, between a song and the next one, it would be better if she would stop and relax for a few seconds, instead of dancing without music.

4. From the marketing point of view, I would also suggest to add in the interface a direct link to the Kari site, so that anybody who installs AIbliss (and even who copies her from a friend's PC) can get in touch with your products and might become a new customer.

Go on with this good work, Mikmoth!

Hi Mikmoth,

I just downloaded your (I believe) most recent version on 10/7/07 around 0300hr Pacific Standard Time.

Just to give you feedback:
XP Pro
Intel Dual CPU

"ActiveX component can't create object Location: bpmDetectExample.Module3D.LoadeD Line 564"

Line565
Line566
Line570
Line571
etc...

"Error 91 Object variable or With block variable not set Location: bpmDetectExample.frmMain.Timer1_Timer Line116:

I'm not sure if I managed to download an old version or if these are truly new/existing bugs showing up on my system.

I tried it on Vista premium and got all errors but the audio player works. Did you have to have some of your other programs installed to run this?

Thanks for the advice. Maybe Jack G would be interested in trying some skinning too.

John, Jack, I found the problem!

I had just upgraded my 3D engine DLL and didn't realize that it required the latest DirectX distributable! I don't know how Vittorio and Freddy got their to work! They must keep up with the latest DirectX releases.

Thanks. I'm uploading the latest file now. Its 12:40 PM Eastern time so it should definately be done by 1:30 PM. I have to go to Walmart to by my Mom a modem. It fried! Lightning!

Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks Vittorio! Good suggestions one and all.

I have definately thought about making a version for WinAmp but I haven't even brought up the plugin specs. I don't know how hard it would be, specially working in VB6.

Yeah, I'm still working on getting her ending animation just right. There's some issues with the 3d engine that I couldn't work around. I have to play around with it some more. But the relaxing idea is certainly what I was working toward.

AI chat window? So soon? I was thinking about version 1.0 for this but putting in rudamentary AI commands would be neat... get everyone ready and used to 'chatting' with her.

Yeah, lots of improvements... but ya know, this is version 0.1.

Intrigueing, we're in the midst of a storm here as well on the west coast.

Do your modifications mean that they will now work with the old drivers such as mine or will I still need to update to the latest.?

I won't be home for a while to be able to test it again so I will when I manage to get home...

Oh, btw, in case it helps, I am using an ATI all-in-wonder video card. At the moment, I forget which genereation it is.

No you don't need to update anything... just redownload the AIBliss Setup file and reinstall it. You should be good to go.

By the way, I've started putting up new Character Files. I tried my hand at an African woman today. Just download the character file and run the included installer. I'll be putting up new girls one at a time. I'll try to do one a day until we have a good selection.

Downloaded Corinne. Everything ok. She's very nice.

Is there a way to move the "Powered by 3DTV" logo somewhere else in the screen or to make it smaller? I usually size the window as vertical, and the logo is always on her face. (users are never satisfied, even when they don't pay anything for the product ).

Yeah, there is a way to get rid of it altogether! I have to license the program. But its very strange how they have it rigged... if I licence it too many times it will lock me out.

Lets wait until I have all the bugs out before I do it tho... once I hear back from John or Jack I'll try it out. (found another bug just today. multiple shadows when loading new characters! its fixed now)

OK, Mikmoth. Don't worry to pay licenses before making any money out of it.

That logo is just a little annoying, but it's perfectly acceptable until you are in Beta test (and also in the final release, if you give it away for free).
