I was wondering if anyone has tried Verbots?
I know they have both an on-line hosted version and a
desktop installation version. I also know it is an XML
based bot capable of expanding its database from text
files. The Standard Verbots 4 is priced at $10.00 ,
there is a monthly fee if you want to have your bot
hosted for on-line users.

I'm new here on this forum, but I'm interested in starting to participate a bit, it is much more active than our own Verbots Forum ( http://www.verbots.com/ ). It would be really cool to see a separate verbot section in this forum, ALICE and Ultra Hal have their own dedicated section. Anyways, the guys here at Conversive are constantly trying to push the limits of A.I. and the verbot product is just the beginning, so we invite people from the Virtual Humans community to give us your feedback on what we're doing right and what could be improved with verbots and verbots online.

Thanks for your interest.

Hi, Matt

Welcome here.

As you can see, I have now reorganized the main page and created a new section about Verbot.

I hope you will post a link to our Forum in the Verbot Forum, so that other people interested in this subject may join us.

In the Virtual Humans Directory, your product is listed under the section Agents.

I have been really impressed with the ease of use and versatillity of Verbots4.

One of the first things that I did with it was to load up the math script and set my oldest son in front of it to learn his tables. He really loved it.

Since then I have activated a second license for my second son who sparatically spends time training it to answer catch phrases and conversations.

The thing that most impressed me was the great documentation of its functionallity as well s it's use of programmable variables.

Gamer Tom and I had discussed that nowadays, you can take your resident verbot work and go on-line if you desire.

Hi Matt,

It's Randal from the Verbots forum. I've started back into it again and hopefully will be able to give you some new knowledge bases and such. I'm working on an automated house right now where A.I. is a part of it. I want to be able to do things like:

User: Alexis, would you turn on the light over the kitchen counter for me?
Alexis: Sure, Randy.
User: Thanks. While I'm cooking, how about a game of Blackjack?
Alexis: I'll get the cards.
[pause]
Alexis: You have a three and a seven. I have showing a queen. What would you like to do?
User: Ummm, hit me please.

And so on. It's all going to be voice driven so that I can actually have a conversation and at the same time have it do some work as well. I'm going to use Verbots technology to run the whole thing, well with the help of some noise canceling microphones and X-10 hardware.

Sorry I've been away for so long. I was engaged to get married and then I broke it off. Something didn't feel right between us but anyway, that's neither here-nor-there. Basically, I was busy with my personal life for a while.

Randy

I straddle the line between genius and insanity. Guess which side I'm on now?

Hello,

WOO HOO, I am having fun.... Just purchased Verbot4 and the full Vanessa, ok, I like variety, I also have several Poser characters(read Aiko).

This program is doing all you people said it would. Dang, I feel like a kid at Christmas ;0

Kirei works wonderfully too. I am in the experimenting stage(read all-nighter), and trying everything. I also got all the plug-ins, controls, scripts, kb's that I could find. This is giving me such a thrill (for a chronic depressant that is impressive!)

First off, I did not enter into this with an inflated idea of what the product is/was, or what it can do. So far, I can see how I can get "her" to do almost anything in XP. All I have to do is write the correct script/knowledge base. Filter in some specifics for personality, and fun(hehe).
That was some lonely/dirty old man humor. ;)

Anyway, I see a few limitations, but a lot less than I expected.

Thank you, Guile3D and hologenicman, for your recommendations.

Vrossi -
Thanks for creating a dedicated section for Verbots, I've also posted a topic on our forum linking to the Virtual Humans Forums, I think many of our users are interested in A.I. in general and this seems like a very good forum for that as well as other cool topics. Keep up the good work!

You are very welcome, MacFalic.

I am so very pleased that you are having fun with Verbots4.

It is such a polished and versatile application that I am truly in wonder that it has not found widespread application in the mainstream.

Anyway, I am glad that you are enjoying this gem of a Virtual Human application.

Hello,

I bought Verbots 4. I find that the interface of Guile's is much easier to work with. Overall, I enjoy this very much. Am still having problems importing characters that are compatible with conversive ones. Microsoft Agents pose no real problems, but are limited by speech and number of commands you can write for them to do. Anyway, am anxiously awaiting the Guile3D release of his "Denise" interface. (remember, guaranteed customer, whatever the price, just keep in mind, retired on fixed budget, lol).

Wow, all that and trying to keep the medical staff off my back. Get a few moments where you can't breathe, and they go nuts. :D

Aw, damn, someone must have noticed I am enjoying myself, gotta hide the laptop. Later all.

Merry Christmas, not referring to the commercial sales event, but the religious one. :)

Yours,

MacFalic
