I am really new to this subject, so i have to admit i am probably making a lot of mistakes and simply not getting things right through a lack of knowledge/skills etc.

I purchased Kari 4.6 Pro about a month back, together with a couple of add on's and Kari Avatar studio.
All has been fine, no real problems and i was exporting images i created from DAZ studios, to good effect.
However (there is always one of those isn't there!) i bought a new laptop as my old one had seen better days, i replaced it with a high spec 64 BIT 1 Terrabite job so that i could work with DAZ studio better ( i am an English guy working on the move in China so a desk top is out of the question).
I reloaded Kari and re purchased Kari Avatar Studio, Kari works fine as she has been reworked for Windows 8, but KAS does not function very well at all!
If i Export a new scene from KAS to Kari, instead of getting a nice working image, i end up with a static picture of my export together with the entire control panel of Kari Avatar Studio!!!
There is no Eye or lip movement, but her voice is there.
Now i have tried doing many exports and ended up with a load of useless images and i am at a total loss to as to how to rectify this problem.
I have tried contacting Kari support but i am afraid i am not having much luck there, so is there anybody out there who can help me with this?
Also one other minor problem, i would like to know how to delete scenes that i have created and exported that i do not want, for example all the static scenes i exported in an attempt to get KAS working on Kari.

You should read this tutorial:

http://www.karigirl.com/SceneCreatorTutorial1.htm

Make sure your resolutions are straight on and that you are exporting BMPs as an output format.

Thanks for writing. :) Let me know if you need more help.

Well i acquired Poser 10, and followed your instructions and tutorial, and yes good results, except for one minor problem and that is my final working image when exported to Kari, does have a faint box around the the mouth area, that is visible when she starts talking.(looks a bit like one of those ventriloquists dummies with a hinged mouth, but no where near as obvious).
I have been very careful to match the mouth and eyes using the show/hide button and 1 pixel movement tool, but it seems to me that the working box areas are a very slightly different shade, is there a way to eliminate this problem?
I am using Daz and Poser whilst creating only new personalities (nothing wrong with the packaged personalities, just prefer to work with and develop new ones)
Mind you i still think it would be a good idea if you make Kari Avatar compatible with Windows 8, although not quite as realistic as those made with Poser, it is quick and easy to work with, and of course a lot cheaper than Poser 10!
Still, i value the somewhat steep learning curve one has to confront when using Daz/Poser, it has forced me to increase my computer skills considerably!

Problem solved!
Where i was going wrong was that i was making the mouth area too small, one forgets that when talking we use most of the lower half of the face, it is in the Tutorial visually, in the illustration of the green rectangle on Kari face.
In any case the results are good now!

What I did was this..... I have Kari Standard. So far I just don't need the other features. Anyhow, I only have the chat window on screen. I downloaded a GFF file that shows some random girl just staring at her webcam as she blinks every now and then. I use her as Kari. The bot image with her big lips and blinking eyes is so "cartoon". The GIF image of a real girl not moving much but blinking every now and then just makes Kari (or Sara as she keeps telling me) feel much more alive and real. Just my two cents.

Well have moved on since, and I have basically mastered the techniques used with Poser, but I have also found that I get even better results using Daz Studio's own "aniMate 2", resolution is higher if you are using the 64 bit version and there is far more usable content available.
With Daz's Victoria 4.2 or Genesis, you can make some very real ladies, however I actually prefer to make fantasy models, as I am very into alternate realities and esoteric thinking.
I am now working on adding additional frames to the scenes (like respiration, running waterfall, or gently moving hair).
So I can put an extra set of frames in, but what if I want to put in a number of animations working simultaneously, anybody got any ideas?
