I start this new section of our Forum with some notes about Android intelligent assistants.

Personally I own an Android 2.3.3 Smartphone and I installed several chatbots/assistants, including Chat with Eve, Eva Intern, Vlingo, Pannous Voice Actions and SpeakToIt.

As one can experience with PC-based or Web-based chatbots, after the initial enthusiasm for that strange feeling of talking with an intelligent machine, it may happen to get bored with them. I often have to admit that the traditional interfaces are usually better: clicking a button is generally easier than trying to explain what you want to a not-so-smart agent who tries to understand you by voice recognition.

Among these products, the only one I am currently using and enjoying is SpeakToIt. The graphic interface is simple but realistic; the product is packed with functions, and the software seems enough stable, considering that it was introduced just a couple of months ago.

It's also completely free and without ads (I suppose this company is now trying to get a strong position in the market, and they will get some revenues in the near future). I only spent 4 Euros to buy the Loquendo TTS, which has a more human accent than the default Pico TTS.

Here is a comparison with SIRI:

I completely agree with you and I also use the Speak-to-it app with great accuracy and enjoyment.
