Hi all,

i am new here and look forward to learning a great deal from you all.

my name is Dipo and i have a little challenge i would like you all help with.

i am trying to write an aiml application such that the template (i.e response from the robot) is not hardcoded.

For instance, when the robot is asked: what films are showing in x cinema, I want the robot to call a function that runs the x-cinema api and then return the films showing as a response to the user input.

kindly point me in the direction of what to read or if there are examples i can quickly look through.

thank you.

A large determining factor for what you're trying to accomplish is which platform you intend to use for your AIML bot. Not all AIML interpreters work in the same way. For example, if your AIML bot is web-based, like a Pandorabots hosted bot, or one like Program O, you would probably be able to have the bot call a Javascript function to process and display the results. For other platforms, such as the Java-based Program D, other methods would have to be used. If you can provide us with more information, we would probably be able to give you an answer that is more suited to your specific circumstances and intent.
