Hi,

I'm Bryan Gudmundson from Help Interactive (www.helpinteractive.com) and I co-designed an interesting piece of software that allows live chat operators to handle more simultaneous conversations with the help of an artificial intelligence chat engine. The web app we call Hybrid Chat allows live agents to log in and chat side-by-side with a custom virtual chat agent. Live agents can jump in and out of conversations to focus on the tough questions and high-value customers. Is this Virtual Humans Forum blasphemy, or an idea you've entertained?

Oh I get it... the Ai agent can answer the most common questions which are stored in some type of database and the tough questions are answered by a real person. Something like that?

Nice website. How is business? Is it paying off for you?

Mikmoth- Thank you, I'm excited to have found this forum! Yes, we build on our existing 'personality' knowledge base and add answers to business/product/service questions. The custom A.I. chat engine can buffer customers– answering questions until it is stumped, at which point it alerts a live operator to jump in and assist. Once the operator is in the conversation, the A.I. continues to suggest answers which can be manually sent or automatically sent after a certain period of time. Thanks for the praise on the site, that's my baby too ;) Business is going pretty well, the toughest part of the pitch is people's fear of the A.I.

Freddy– They all have money, but we identify high value customers as repeat customers and ones with products in their shopping carts, we can also monitor their site behavior and set up business rules to identify customers who are demonstrating intent to purchase.

Not sure if you guys checked it out, but about halfway through the video on the home page, theres a screen capture of our Hybrid Chat interface in action.

Sounds like you've put a lot of effort into it. Congratulations on your work so far. It's a very interesting field virtual humans.

Do you have any fun projects for the future or that you've worked on in your free time? I'm currently working on a video game with beautiful girls that chat and run around naked for example. just google aibliss. Hologenic man is working on a robot. Guile is off with this virtual assistant. There's a few other current projects running around here too.

Anyway... good luck with your venture. And don't hesitate to jump into any of the other threads on the forum.

Lots and lots and lots of effort, yes. Right now we're working on a new fully virtual agent, what we call our 'Virtual Chat Expert' (www.helpinteractive.com/virtualchat.jsp), for a client. They wanted some challenging levels of interaction. I'll be sure to let you know when we get it live.

I'm definitely going to want to see your video game when you're finished. :D I'll check out what Hologenic Man and Guile are up to, sounds interesting too.
