Hey Guile!

Here is a tip that might help you...

I downloaded and am using VMware Workstation. It allows you to run an instance of windows inside windows. Very much like VirtualPC but way better. It even does Direct3D!

I've been using it to test all my new updates. Since it's a fresh copy of Windows everytime (since you can make clones of your Virutal Disks) it's great for testing stuff. Now I don't have to install Windows everytime I want to test my software.

It's really helpful.

Good luck!

Yes, I agree.
Before using VMWare, I experienced many problems with setting up different configurations for my PC. For example, a certain VPN software did not allow me to connect to the Web, or couldn't be active together with another VPN software.

I used SAP's version of Eclipse, which can't live on the same system with a standard Eclipse installation, and so on.

Furthermore, I was reluctant to buy a new PC , becuase it is now sold with Windows 7 preinstalled, which I really don't like.

Now I am using VMWare on my new pc. I created 3 different XP-based virtual machines, which I start and stop according to my needs, and each of them does not conflict with the others. I defined some shared folders, so that each VM can access the same Documents folder. And each machine is simply a file on the disk, so you can easily take a snapshot of it and reload it if necessary.

Many companies now use this product to set up virtual servers in their data center.

Virtual Assistant Denise is an awesome project. However, there are so many bugs and issues that need to be addressed. The platinum version that was released should be a beta version. It is not even close to completion. When i bought this, i was expecting a full version with so much features, but i was dissapointed because of all the bugs and problems i've been having. One major thing i didn't like is that when using voice command, Denise opens anything she feels like opening. I am using a Logitech 9100c 1080p webcam with a headset mic so the mic is definitely not the problem. She opens programs left and right. Also, there are a lot of errors in the english in her responses. For example she spells words wrong sometimes and says a sentence in not the proper way. There are just so much problems to be fixed and updates to be made. I think it shouldn't have been released yet because $180 and especially $800 is not worth for Denise at this early stage. I was surprised by some of the commands you could do with Denise but i was disappointed that you could voice chat with her. I am experienced with this virtual programming and software development and would be more than willing to help with testing, bugs, issues, and flaws with the software. I believe that Denise can be upgraded to an amazing AI virtual system that will shock everyone that buys it. Thank you.

Thanks for the tip Mik and Vitt,

This will really be very helpfull, since my biggest challenge so far has been the compatibility of Denise with all versions of Windows out there. I can say that most of the problems happens with Windows Vista systems.

Thanks krutoi7,

We will release the first service pack for Denise next Monday that will fix most of the voice recognition issues.

Denise is a very young software, but within only these two months of her existence, we have release more than 10 updates with fixes and new features.

Denise is really a complex software from a developer point of view, because she deals with so many tasks at the same time, and all of them has to be synchronized with the so many different versions of windows, and brands of hardware and peripherals.

Other big challenge is to make voice recognition something easy and normal for most of people that are not used to use it. Voice Recognition depends of several factor, like good noise canceling microphones, ambient noise, CPU power and others.

My team is working hard to make all this work flawless, and I assure you we are very close to that.

Regards,

Guile

Thanks for that RAMIKO2K8 but Yes I have seen them.
I'm asking for videos of people using her, so peeps can see what the voice recog. is actually like for example, as the videos that guile put up on youtube are using a tts voice. It would also be a good opportunity (I think) to show how people are incorporating Denise into their daily lives.

Hi friends. Sorry for not being here more posting my updates. I have great respect and tenderness for this forum, that was where everything started for me.
Denise is doing wonderfully. She is now a little more than six months old. Still a long way to go to get where I dream off, but I have the feeling we are in the right path.
Denise now has Face Recognition, Kinects integration and very soon Speech Recognition with Dragon engine embedded.
I will come back here more often to let you guys updated.

Next week we will release our first male avatar assistant, and new male TTS voices to go with him.

Denise is an excellent Virtual Assistant. But it should include an option to teach her about things that the user can teach her by chatting to her.

For the price one has to pay for this outstanding product it sure lacks the option for the user to teach her about certain things.

Yes, I did purchase her.

Even with the recent updates, the developer still should add a feature for the user and the assist to communicate on the same sheet of music. With that feature the assistant would be much better and more user friendly where the user has the ability to teach the assistant.

Bought Denise Platinum today, so still in the exploration phase of things with the software, but it's running pretty smoothly so far. Any nitpicks I have are likely things I just haven't figured out how to manage properly, so I'm witholding judgement. (At least until I finish reading the manual! lol)

I'm just a user, not a programmer of any level, but I'm happy to put the program through it's paces if anyone has any questions/suggestions.

These has been great days for Denise. One of our users customized her to perform as a Virtual DJ, and this is causing so much discussion over the past days that my server went down a couple of times.

The article´s got MSNBC website first page last week:

Awesome! Congratulations!

A lot of good comments on there. A lot of bad ones too. It's always the same with new emerging technologies isn't it?

I always say any news is good news. Publicity and all...
