Ok so I have a question. So when you start up the program, it doesn't appear inside a Windows' window. It only generates a task bar item if you open any one of the various options menus. So is there a way to quit out of desktop mode without killing the process in task manager? Your help page doesn't say anything about that. Is there some kind of key stroke combination to quit the program or return to island/ forest mode?

When you go into desktop mode the menus will be transfered to the icon tray at the bottom right. When you click on the AiBliss icon the menu will pop up. The first menu option is "Window Mode".

Here is the new Forest level. We are afterall trying to create paradise.

Should be out soon I hope.

What's really interesting is the grass.

Look at these two textures. I can now place grass on a landscape with the values from a texture. It took me like 2 weeks to figure it out. I wish I could show the code to someone who understood how complex it is. It's one of my most beutiful 'babies'.

I added some really pretty background music to my game.

Here is a video of it... there's only 4 songs showcased in the video but there's 8. You can also set your own if you want.

Still working on this release. Might 2 or 3 weeks.

The next version of AiBliss will include a built-in world builder.

It's pretty simple at this point but allows you to make your own levels. Very cool.

I'll try to make a tutorial on how to use it. You will of course need a 3D program to make your models. I will include a few of them in the program. Trees, props, etc... The best way to export a model into the game is by using Panda DirectX exporter with 3dsmax.

I finally figured out how to implement cloth in my game - especially because my 3d engine does not support cloth meshes.

It was a pain... but I was able to connect PhysX with Truevision3D.

Here is a simple movie of my pipeline in action.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Evx9z1I7yFE

Fps is about 5000 for a stand alone simple mesh object. The movie's fps is much lower because of the capture software.

I used a C++ ATL Com Dll to do it. You can't believe how complex the code gets in there.

So what does this mean?? It means our girl's hair will bounce and she moves. Her skirt will wave and curl as she strolls through the gardens!

Still have a lot of work to do for the next update but I'm 2/3rds there! That ain't bad. I say 2 weeks. I pretty much gutted AiBliss's environment architecture and put in a complete new one. Now you can even make your own levels.

The World Builder v1 module is 95% complete. I made this level in 15 minutes for example. It's very easy if you are an artist to put in your own stuff now.

This is what the World Builder is looking like right now.

Here is an image of a new level I'm working on. It's like a Gaia level. The Tree of Mana.

Thanks John! I used a spot light with a clip-art of a goddess to project the image on the trunk and then baked the texture from there. Turned out pretty neat I think.

Yea, she want's it alright...

It's fun to visit Hell... but I would certainly not want to stay there!

It's coming together piece by piece... starting to look like a real game.

All the code I am putting in now will be used for bigger and better things. Still got my eye on the prize.... CivilizAition ! ! !

It's my MMORPG full of intelligent Sims! It's probably 5-7 years away.
